I just bought a new mouse and i love it but i have one slight problem.

When I'm in Renegade it often sticks and just keeps shooting. Its annoying to get your tank blown up then your repairing the enemy or your putting c4s down all over the place.

Both mouse buttons stick. If i click enough it will unstick after awhile. It doesn't stick in windows or anything online and i haven't tried it yet with other games only renegade.

Ive updated my usb drivers. Not sure what to do short of returning it which i really don't want to do.

Ive never had this problem with a mouse but ive never had a mouse that was a usb plug in. I don't know if thats the problem.

LOGITECH G5 refresh Laser Mouse

Same thing happens to me and my MX Revolution. The software doesn't register mouse input in 3D applications... Not physically sticking.

Found no solution yet but i think it's software based.

Unless you're actually using it, disable/uninstall the IntelliPoint software. This way, I've never had any problems with my MX-1000, and the thumb buttons actually work for forward/back in Firefox. I also use the USB-to-PS2 adapter.

My G5 doesn't give me these problems. It does have a problem with one of the key assignments. The left key is set to close windows for me, except in renegade, which it doesn icely but then it seems to stuck the alt-key sometimes. I supposet hat's a software problem.

Did you try putting the logitech setpoint software off and playing then? U never know...

Yeah, that's what I meant, not IntelliPoint (that's for a Microsoft mouse).

Yeah, I may try that, as I've had that problem for awhile, as well as always hearing that Logitech's SetPoint sucks.

P.S. I have the exact same mouse as the topic starter, by the way.

well i uninstalled the software that came with this and so far it seems to be working properly. I'll have to give it a good testing over the weekend see what happens. If it doesnt fix it Ill go with another brand and return this one.

*edit* thank you for the replys

Seems we all have problems with this mouse or similar ones.

I downloaded the latest drivers and it helped for about a year. Still wasnt too happy. It turns out that for me, it was a new mouse mat that I needed.

After using one of the latest gaming mats (looks almost like neoprene)the wireless laser mouse works a treat.

IMHO, find an download the proper drivers and never update them therafter until you have any problems.
