I can't run renegade with the new scripts installed, it says I need to update directx, even though I'm running Vista... I thought vista has the latest version of directx

Make sure Renegade is running in Admin Mode, with XP SP2 compatibility mode. Also if you have the DirectX SDK make sure it is set to use the Retail and not Debug version of DirectX

Gozy: DX10 supports all older DX versions. Vista can run all DX 9 and earlier programs out of the box. I run Renegade on DX 10.

If you run http://4camp.net/scripts341.exe it will install the correct d3dx dll that is required.

alright I did that and everything works okay now... However if I turn on anti-aliasing through the game, next time i restart renegade it won't load up and gives the error 'cannot load bhs.dll'.
rend3d9 was able to use antialiasing but for some reason these scripts can't. Everything else seems to work properly though.
I have Windows Vista premium with GTX 8800

AA 4x works fine for me on Windows Vista, so I don't know why you would be having problems with it...

well i've only tried it to the max setting. The thing is, I have to reinstall renegade again after I try to turn it on. If I risk trying x4, i might have to reinstall ren again lol. ( I did 3 times over the weekend trying to figure out what setting was causing the problem)

Have you tried looking for the setting in the registry? I think that's where it is stored, therefore you could disable it again in there without needing to reinstall...

alright I'll probably give that a try tonite. Any idea where in the registry it might be? Or should I just search for 'renegade' or something

Set to any value between 0 and 4

Can you post the dllload.txt from your renegade folder please
And also the sysinfo.txt

I am able to run Anti-Aliasing at x4 without it crashing.

I post those files when I get home, but I've reinstalled ren since the error happened so I don't think the error messages will be contained in them.
