ok i dont have a sound card but the plug ins are part of my motherboard but i had these extras plug ins my front 2 usb 1 headphone so we was taking the usb one with a cord moving it so it would detect then poof pc turned off and i smelled fire 0o after disconntecing those extra plug ins and trowing them away for shorting i turnd my pc on but no sound AT ALL trust me i tried everything but no sound so do i have to get a sound card or is there somthing i can do?

If you smelled smoke then I don't hold out much hope.

You could try a USB sound card adapter,it won't sound fantastic but if your USB is still going it should work.

well it came from the part not motherboard would a sound card fix it?

I wanted to connect my onboard sound to the TV about two months ago, it resulted in a funny spark, blown fuse and broken onboard sound.

Bought a Crative X-FI <whichever model> and it clearly was totally worth it.

Do -> the same.

got no ss or photo i mean Sad part is long gone before i could but just search for compaq pesario s6900nx and u will see 3 plugins in front of pc case connect to motherboard via cables
