Does Renguard work with Vista?

Renegade does. Renguard doesn't. I tested it myself.

Will BHS make a fix or a Vista version?

I hope so because I will use Vista in 2 months.

Does anyone managed to make it run on Vista?

I don't know.

Do you want Renguard on Vista?

Hell yeah!

I think It will be compatible in RenGuard 1.4, Not sure..

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

I couldn't get the Renegade installer to start in Vista RC1, it just said that the program had stopped responding and did it's "Windows is trying to fix this" thing that never works. Tell Me

However, although I haven't tested it in Vista final yet, I should have access to a Vista box soon I can experiment with. Wink

Can I ask why you'd want to run Vista? I can't see anything about it that appeals enough to move me from XP.

At least wait one year until it has enough patches to make it half safe.

We'll make sure to get some Vista users into the private beta for 1.04, but at this point I don't have any reason to believe that it won't work.

I'm the bawss.

Actually, they both do. You'll just need to set both game.exe and game2.exe to the WinXp SP2 compatibility mode(At least, I think that's what I did). And everything will run smoothly, so long as you're using the RC1 32-bit edition(The Beta 2 doesn't work so nicely).

Unless you meant that it won't run smoothly right off the bat, because you'd be right;)

I've been using RC1 on my PC since it was released to the CPP, and I've had no problems with Renegade or RG since(No more than I did with XP, anyhow). Now, if you use the 64-bit edition, than you can't really count on anything to work. It's a real compatibility nightmare. And keep in mind that GSA doesn't work with RC1 currently(You can't join a server or lobby unless you follow someone). And RenIP needs a compatibility mode too I think...Or it may have been the administrator mode.

If we're lucky, though, a lot of this stuff will be fixed by time Vista is released. I wouldn't count on all of it being fixed.

Oh yeah, if you're having trouble installing, then try the combatibility mode with the installer.

I've installed Renguard 1.03 and Renegade without any problem whatsoever on Windows Vista RTM. I didn't have to change anything- I simply installed in the normal way.

I connect to games via DC or ASE - GSA untested.

Versions of Vista tested on:

Home premium
Ultimate

Both 32bit

Both retail.

Well none of the solutions above work for Windows Home Premium Vista 64 BIT, I can't run Renguard. But I can run Renegade.

The Beta version works for Vista. It's been tested by several people. We had to make some changes to get it working.

THIS WORKS! Key thing missing, change the thing he told you to above, then change the renegade shortcut to Game.exe instead of renegade.exe, also change compability to run as admin aswell and it will work Big Grin Didn;t even need to try the beta In Love
