If we had to ban all who ever cheated or ever created a cheat (obj3cts and such) then I don't think there would be many members left here (sad fact).

After spending the day doing a bit by bit install, the crashing is down to the ssaow, but I still have no idea why.

which version of ssaow are you using? Some people find 1.5 tends to crash for some reason, try 1.4 and see if that makes a difference.

I remember when I upgraded from SSAOW 1.4 to 1.5 my FDS Started randomly crashing after so long... i'm not what the exact problem is.. But you might need to re-install your FDS, It stopped my crashing anyway..

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

It's strange, I'm using ssaow 1.5

On my dual xeons it runs fine, but it keeps crashing on my dual core Pentium D 950 3.4 Ghz, same setup, I even tryed to move my old install across.

I've tried reinstalling with no joy

Basic FDS setup with the BI server.dat patch works fine but soon as I try ssaow it crashes

o.0

Thats strange!

Can I ask, How long have you been running your FDS on that pc? Has this just started happening?

If it just started to randomly crash.. I would suggest deleteing everything to do with the FDS, Then re-install everything, It could work..

If it's a new pc them i'm not sure Dont Get It

Have you tried downgrading to ssaow 1.4 as suggested?

Is there any specific event ingame causing the crash? I know it might be hard to spot with 20+ people running around, but it might help solve the problem if we know a cause of it.

Perhaps the new box simply can't handle multiple instances of the FDS at once?

quoting your crashdump...

The version of bhs.dll is 2.500000

That's a pretty old version of bhs.dll, have you tried the ssaow 1.5 ported to 2.9.2 ?

Ok, update, I have swapped the server to a Dual Core Opteron 175 and it's still doing it, could it be something about it being dual core?

No idea, have you tried changing the affinity of the server.dat process to use only one processor? Put some of them on processor 1, and the rest on processor 2?

I have a hyperthreaded pentium 4, which is two logical cores and that has no affect on the FDS, but I don't know how well it works with a true dual core setup.

Dual Core should not be causing it, because the fds is single threaded.
Are you running any kind of mods other than scripts.dll that might be causing it?

Sorry to revive this old topic, but I happen to know the solution.
It just happened to me aswell and I solved it, with a simular crashdump.

Solution(most likely): You haven't installed the Westwood online component in your FDS map.

index.php?t=getfile&id=2253&private=0
As shown on the image, you have to leave the settings in the screen as it is..
