No, I don't have a working LFDS, but BRenBot *should* already support linux-FDS (mostly), and I should be able to make any tweaks needed to the input parsing etc..

Unfortunatly I have yet to find a build of linux which supports my wireless cards, so I am stuck without internet when I use linux, which makes it useless to me at the moment. I still have SuSe 10.1 installed for the occasional testing of various things, but I rarely use it due to the lack of support for my wireless cards.

And before you ask, I spent 4 days solid searching google and trying everything under the sun to get it working, it wouldnt have it.

You probably have a wireless card that only works with a windows driver...for those you can use the ndis_wrapper driver, which basically uses your windows driver on linux...scary but it works.

I have been trying to use the ndis_wrapper, still no luck.

Linux reports the card is connected but pinging any other machines on the network returns no response, it can't connect to the shared internet connection and basically acts as if it is not connected.. >.<

maybe you need to set ssid (the wireless stuff) and ip dns gateway etc manually ?

I do it manually for windows anyway, makes it easier to forward ports.

I had the SSID, WEP Key, ip and gateway set to the same settings that work in windows, it just refused to ping any other machines or connect to the shared net connection... after 4 days of trying I was getting rather fed up with the same problems over and over again Razz

What wireless card do you use? There are only certain ones that have native linux drivers(either from the manufacturer or a third party). And as blazer said, you should be able to get it working with ndis wrapper. Your best chance would be to google the card you use and see what has worked for other people or post on a forum such as linuxquestions.org.

I use ndiswrapper for my Netgear wireless card drivers... and it works fine. Maybe Belkin just won't work with ndiswrapper? Also, I'm under the distro ubuntu, but I don't think that would make a difference.

I have been looking around google (AGAIN) and trying various 'fixes' (AGAIN) and it still refuses to work properly >.<

Based on a lot of comments out there Belkin cards are notoriously difficult to get working on linux due to the drivers being closed source and not compatable with all versions of the card (umm... nice one belkin.. lol)

Your best bet is to just buy another wireless card under the brand Linksys or Netgear. They've gotten far cheaper recently.
