You just said that the havoc can come up was approaching to steal the arty.. I do this all of the time because people think I'm not looking out the side of my vehicle and come up and try to steal it... It works really well.

Back On Topic:
"Point whores" do NOT hurt the team, unless the team consists of point whores and nobody is accomplishing any objectives. The you have a problem. It's a common and well-founded tactic is the RTS C&C games to keep one unit attacking a building to tie up funds or units in defense. Why shouldn't you do it in Renegade?
