Which person has more points? Or a better k.d. ratio?

If every single canwars player were to be running around doing their own thing, it would likely be a tie or time game... whatever. There would at least be SOME teamwork on the other team.

This is how good people play: 3rd person unless you're scoping. Have a nice day.

What if you are in a fight at point blank range? Or you have your back against the wall? Thank you, you have a nice day too.

Oh, I guess that may work, I'll see later. I destroyed the airstrip all by myself yesterday. I feel I'm getting the hang of this now.

Renegade is a TEAM based game, so a 20v20 would prove who the better TEAM player is.

Playing as a team requires everyone on the team to make an effort to play cohesively, and regardless of how good a "team player" you are, all it takes is a couple stupid people out of that 20 to ruin your team's chance of winning.

It annoys me when people start talking bullshit about how I'm not a "team player" if I don't participate in their stupid rushes all the time. What defines a team player, anyway? If a team player is someone who helps the team to win, then often a team player is someone who ignores the idiots on his or her team and attempts to get the necessary points or destroy the necessary building by themselves. If you are trapped in your base and some newb says "FLAMER RUSH EVERYOPN LLOL," are you not a team player if you ignore him?

Perhaps challenging someone to a clan war in place of a 1v1 would be appropriate, if you are interested to see how someone behaves as part of a team. However, unless that person is also calling the clan match, all it would demonstrate would be their ability to be disciplined. 1v1s are the only way to effectively compare individual skill in Renegade. I suppose I shouldn't make assumptions like this, but I imagine you don't like the idea of 1v1s since you have little to no experience playing them. Thusly, (please don't take this personally) you know you wouldn't have much of a chance in one. That's OK, I've been there myself. No one expects you to be born knowing the strategy for playing a 1v1. However, once a player knows how to play a 1v1, it is at least a useful exercise in determining which individual has better ability to use a tank. And after all, a team is only the sum of its individuals.

You're right. I wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell in a 1v1. I'm a terrible sniper, and I've learned to instinctively panic when I'm alone in rushing or defending. However, I don't think that measures my individual skill in Renegade, since playing renegade (Properly) almost never involves being a 1-man army.

So I suck at 1v1s, and I use 1st person mode, does that make a bad player? I submit that it does not.

No they wouldn't...all of them will rush at the start because getting money for killing buildings will help their egoistical needs and the team as an (unwanted?) sideeffect. Now if the other team is standing still inside a building shooting the floor, they will lose every building at the start of a rushmap and therefore lose the game. Point proven..

lol

"omg u use fierst pierson!"

UHH WHAT

SINCE WHEN WAS USING FIRST PERSON SOMETHING BAD

"ur bad at ranagada!"

I BOW TO YOUR INTERNET SKILLS LOLZ

MANY TIMES ATTEMPTING TO FIRE AT A TARGET THAT IS MOSTLY HIDDEN BEHIND AN OBJECT WILL CAUSE PROJECTILES TO BE BLOCKED WHEN SHOOTING IN THIRD PERSON

I THOUGHT EVERYONE KNEW THIS BUT I GUESS NOT

FIRST PERSON IS USEFUL IN MANY CIRCUMSTANCES SUCH AS FIRING AT TARGETS THAT ARE BECOMING OBSCURED OR ARE ABOUT TO BE OBSCURED

ANYONE FIRING AT SOMEONE SITTING ON THE BRIDGE OF CITY FLYING, FROM GROUND LEVEL, KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN

That's not true. You only can't hit someone if he's only showing the tip of his head to you, but he will probably be in scope if he does that, so you can go in scope as well, switch to 1st person and pop his head.

With 3rd person you just have to aim somewhere over the enemy's head or at the head and you will score a headshot...its so much easier than in 1st person where you actually have to aim for the head for it to count.

Not only that, but you have better sight of your surroundings as well.

Another great thing about 3rd person is that if you wallhug with the V-key, you can target people without exposing yourself and then hug the wall with V and only giving your arm and gun as a target by doing so.

You were only good in the WL days, ACK and a lot has happened since then...I'm not saying your not better than most of the retards here, tho.

lol I don't care if I'm good at Renegade now. I play CS more than anything else and I'd prefer to stay good at that, instead of this game that becomes dead within three years.

Tip of the head, part of the body, doesn't matter. The fact is that you're more accurate in first person because the camera angle screws with targeting. I usually play in third. I only switch to first so I can hit people that are being obscured by geometry or some kind of object.

You're more accurate, but you will hit less. Try hitting the tip if the head unscoped...it's practically impossible in 1st person as well. In every other situation 3rd person will lock on the enemy soldier even if you're not directly aiming at him, which is a major advantage.

..and Pirkel, I wouldn't want to meet retards like you either.
