For some incredibly annoying reason Windows Media Player 10 doesn't work in any browser for me. It works fine when I play files on my computer, but it's gone to hell in any browser. In Firefox it says I'm missing a plugin, even though WMP is installed, and Internet Explorer shows the player but it's all over the place and screwed up, and doesn't work. I've tried reinstalling WMP 10 twice, and I've tried searching Google for anything. There's nothing. Looks like homosoft screwed someone over again (Quicktime works perfectly in both browsers). I have a friend who has the same problem as me. We're both pretty much stuck and can't figure it out. Hopefully someone here has a solution?

Have you given WMP access to the internet? If you don't it'll never be able to load a streamed file.

How do I go about that? I went into the player's options and found a checkbox that says "Connect to the Internet (overrides other commands)" and checked it, but it made no difference.

Just to let you know, I don't think that's it, because I've downloaded several streaming files for WMP and they work fine.

Of the option or how it's messed up in a browser?

This media player is 10 times better than WMP 9 or 10.I don't have it attached to my browser, it just starts when I click on media files
This one plays as a wallpaper. Really nice but I am a little skeptical yet

Yeah, I use Zoom Player for playing movies. But WMP is required to play videos in browsers. I have no other choice.

Yeah, it's also required for licensing purposes too. I don't know, I would say it's an IE options issue. The K-Lite web site claims that they know everything about media, maybe they can fix you up.

Every so often, I get this positive feeling that humanity can somehow, possibly attain pure awesomeness, and enlightenment, and that there is light at the end of the road for us all. However, I only need to go to the latest HUD thread at RenForums to remind me of how dumb I was for thinking such stupid things.

Well, what happens is the whole interface of the player on the page is all messed up and disoriented, and just does nothing. I think I know the problem though, and it would require reformatting which I don't feel like doing at this moment.
