I am re-posting this on behalf of Ripintou, who is now stationed in Baghdad:

--------------------------------------------
Hello Christine (Crimson) ALL

(Unclassified)

Well I got to Baghdad safe despite the combat landing by a C-130. Living in a tent with all the comforts of home, a bed and a locker ... laugh.

I work mostly during the night so sleeping during the day is a challenge by itself. Very dusty here even the sky is dirty, I'll be glad to breath the Phoenix pollution as a relief.

Big mission here maintaining stability to the region. We get attacked a lot and we're under constant vigilance, though we return the favor 10 fold!

Most of what we get hit by are mortars and rockets. Apache helicopters everywhere supporting the mission here, they're usually the ones taking out the insurgents. There are many Special Forces/Mercs here that infiltrate any well dug-in insurgents that are also a threat. We use a triangulation system to trace any fired projectile in the Baghdad area, this locates the exact position that it was fired from, thus the enemy is killed. We wear a lot of gear and we have to wear it everywhere.

Every day there are patriot details for those that wish to attend for our fallen comrades, unfortunately there is no respawning!

All the Guys/Gals in n00bstories/Official Renegade Forums, Non00bs etc ... Keep the home front warm for me/us and keep the great game/forums alive. Kill the cheaters and smack the spammers!!!

Next time I write I will try to include some images. Miss all of you ...

Take Care

RipintoU (Dave)

I'm the bawss.

Good to hear he's okay!
Does he have any idea of when he'll be back?

Let him know we're all thinking about him and praying for his safety (well, I am at least).

The part that hits home "Every day there are patriot details for those that wish to attend for our fallen comrades"

The army would just have to come find me,I'm the a.w.a.l type of person.thats to much you risking your life for,and getting nothing in return.

Why don't you shut the fuck up if you're not going to say anything encouraging. Stupid faggot. Do you think they VOLUNTEER for nothing? Would you prefer the terrorists bomb our country? They're serving their country and that makes them proud. You spelled A.W.O.L wrong too, moron.

Good luck to him and I hope he comes back in one piece.

Its good hear he's ok. I hope he comes back just fines with a few good stories to tell. I wouldn't mind knowing some more personal insight on the day to day routine of a soldier (,I can only assume he's combative and not an engineers or some such).

Whatis a 'patriot detail'? - is it some sort of honour guard?

You say "it's not worth risking because you get nothing in return"...Well, it's brave people like Ripin' that have fought & won all of the priviledges you are afforded by this great country. You may not agree with this war but you must respect the individuals such as Ripin' who put their lives on the line for YOU & all the other slack, apathetic Americans.
Thank you Ripin' & come home safe friend.

kinghigh1 - Leave him alone.

I don't agree with this particular war either, but Ripintou is doing a great service to your country and Iraq, so you might as well congradulate him.

No. Seriously. No.

Your right, I don't agree with this war,
SickO you said"You may not agree with this war but you must respect the individuals such as Ripin' who put their lives on the line for YOU & all the other slack, apathetic Americans."

but to tell you the truth, their LIVES are on the line because of the Irapis, not ME or the all the other slack, apathetic Americans.

I never said anything bad,SERIOUSLY I wish Ripin all the best.

The army would just have to come find me,I'm the a.w.o.l type of person.thats to much you risking your life for,and getting nothing in return.

YOU SICKEN ME! How dare you fucking say that. They're dying for you to have that opinion and voice it. What are they getting out of it, you wonder? They're protecting their friends of family and their friends and family. That has to be one of the best feelings to ever have, and you dare say that they get nothing out of it. I hope one day you realize how much of a FOOL you are and then realize that you are nothing but scum.

No, I'm not, but I do have immense respect for them.

Yeah, I never said you can't have that opinion, but you show that you're an idiot beyond all reason for having such an opinion. What if our soldiers had the same attitude as you back during the revolution, civil war, wwi, or wwii? You probably couldn't be able to voice this opinion that you have. Hell, you may not even be alive. Just because you have the right to form and voice any opinion that you may have doesn't mean that you should form one without thinking about it first. You suck as an American.

kinghigh1. You may have an opinion, but you should also understand it well and have the intelligence to convey your meaning to other people without seeming like a simpleton.

You may not agree, that's fine, its your right and one you should keep close. But you have to ask your self... 'hay, is this the right place to start a shit storm over the war in Iraq, since it is supposed to be about some guy we know calling home just tell us that he is safe and well.'

Oh and thanks opalkilla, I just like to be sure about these things.

Its pathetic that liberals can come to a thread like this and try and start a flame war / use un-incouriging comments to our men and woman in arms. Just goes to show how much they hate freedom and America.

Glad to hear your doing good rip, keep up the good fight, kill those bastards, I'll keep thinking of ya guys Smile
