The forums were hacked tonight by someone using a newly released phpBB exploit. The exploit has been fixed and our most recent backup (a month old) has been restored. We have the IP address of the attacker and will be taking whatever legal steps we can.

As a result of this incident, we will be greatly increasing the interval of the forum backups, and will be spending more time keeping up to date on the latest exploits, and doing whatever performance and security improvements we can.

Please don't unnecessarily bump or reply to old topics. There are bound to be some people who don't even read this and suddenly think that some of the old threads are new ones, so please don't flame them and we will just have to point them to this post so they know what happened.

Note: this of course also means that any new accounts created within the past month are now gone, and those new users will have to re-register.

Ya it's completely gone and all the posts that were in it. There were hundreds of posts more then a month old there. There was a lot of good stuff in there.

Well this also explains why I had dead links in my siggy. Sorry to hear this happen. I heard about this exploit about a week ago and we protected our boards against right away.
