I like the idea becase it might force EA to give more support, but I dissaprove because it is the second funniest thing I have heard today.

idiot children like this are always trying to come up with "legal sounding" posts. fact is, if any of these 13 year olds knew anything about the law and product liability, they wouldn't bother posting this rubbish as it makes them look like morons to all except the other 13 year olds

maybe i'm wrong here but i'm also pretty sure there are no laws against software manufactures for "bugged" software. think i saw something about that when anarchy online first came out and people were pissed off on that games message boards for the multiple bugs and massive memory leaks.

Has the Topic been deleted? Keep getting 'The page cannot be displayed'

Anyway, I bet EA would just do the Mr Burns thing "Well, I have 10 High-priced Lawyers, do your worst"

Lol... "micovwar" must have the worst spelling and grammar of anyone I've ever seen. I'd doubt if this n00b is older than 10, or in a higher grade than the 6th. Retards like this shouldn't be allowed to waste the oxygen that others could be using.

Most of the people on that board have piss poor spelling and grammar. It's a wonder how they figured out how to register.

How could these retards who are obviously under 13, and are illegally posting, create a law suit against a company just because they're having a few problems with their game? This is the most n00bish, immature, and stupid thing I've seen lately. Like their parents are going to give them the money so they can get a lawyer. (like a lawyer's going to represent a 10 year old Very Happy )

Stupid Generals kiddies.. EA wont take them serious, cos they posted it in a public forum there fore waiving some kind of legal crap im sure. EA = a giant Corperation that can probly crush any petty lawsuit. EA will only care if people stop buying the game, or take it back..

In the end it doesn't matter if you are who you say you are. You will still mean nothing to me.

When i have kids, everytime i drive past a fast food restaurant, im gonna punch my kid in the face, then they'll never wanna come..

What bullshit.

I was talking to a few *online friends* of mines before Generals came out about its so-called "anti-cheat technoledgey", which will flash a mesage across the screen telling what cheat is being used by who.----EA was boasting about that about 3 months before the game was released, everyone was exited. I have yet to see this mesage, the closest thing to it is the "out of sync" mesage, which just tells you that {someone} was trying to use a {cheat}.

EA is bullshit, im not going to buy any more games from them, Im surprised at myself for even buying Generals after all the bad reviews.

I have found glitches upon bugs upon problems in the game, some that actually affect gameplay and others that are just something that doesnt match their patterns, showing that something is wrong.

Its a real shame really that they even put C&C in the title. For that, C&C is dead now, also because Westwood is gone(Even though their support sucked and the games had cheats, the games were still good.)

And they have no excuses what so ever for their servers that dissconect you while talking in the lobby, doing basically nothing at all. Why did they have to use GaySpy servers instead of their own?

And for all the people who want to file a lawsuit agenst them, dont waste your time. I may only be 14 with no special education in lawschool, but even I know this shit. You tell your lawyer you want to file a lawsuit agenst a game company for having crappy games, they will laugh at you. No doubt about it. "Let the buyer beware", a phrase that comes into play. Its main meaning basically tells people that they should know what they are buying before they actually buy it, in order to avoid these problems.
Honostly, why would anyone in the right-mind spend the money for a court hearing and a lawyer and all the other stuff that requires paying in order to file a lawsuit/go to court over a game? The game costs 50$ USD, Is it really worth it? Your better off to just froget about it and give the game to the little kid next door.

Take time to read that, the bottem part has some good points for all you people who all think you can sue all the world for pissing you off.

Very Happy

I just picked this quote as I think it succinctly states the general opinions out there.

To rebut them - as far as I know, there is no legal action you can take against EA for providing a buggy game. I'm not a lawyer, but I've been around for a while and I pay attention to as much of this stuff as I can.

That EULA you click through (the legalese page upon page that you either didn't read or just scrolled through really fast to get to the OK button during install) says something along the lines of "I understand this game is provided w/o any kind of gaurantee that it will even run on my system, etc etc".

There are lots of other interesting things in those EULAs... you should try reading them sometime. But that's the pertinent part. By clicking OK, you entered into a contract that says you agree it may be a piece of shit, and if you think so, you can take some action along the lines of returning it to EA for a refund. What the exact action is will depend on what the EULA in question says (I've not installed my copy of Generals yet... too many other cool games distracting me, not to mention the job hunt Razz ).

So, most likely, the lawsuit is doomed to failure. The only possible route it could take to even think about succeding is to challenge the binding nature of the EULA. If the lawyers can trash that, they may be able to consider attacking the buggy-software stuff, but I doubt that'd work. EULAs may not be binding when they say "you need to give us your first born child to even hold this package, and if you break the seal to get to this point, your immortal soul is ours. We'll be by to pick it up at 7, since you're reading this and must have broken the seal to do so." However, something that says "this may not work on your system" is probably quite legally binding.

The only thing you can do to REALLY get EA's attention is to just stop buying their products. EA is a corperation... not really all that big in the grand scheme of things, but still a corperation. The thing they understand best is the bottom line. If you hit them there, they notice. If you kvetch and moan on a forum, they probably won't care too much.

-Greg

(none of the opinions expressed here-in are those of EA or any of it's constituents. blah blah blah, they're just my personal opinions, etc).

Agrees on what codewrench said, but the EULA thing could be a good thing to take on, because you do have to agree to bullshit terms to install the game, the lawyers could use a scenario along the lines of buying a new car, when you buy a new car, warrentys are pretty much - Car will run fine for 3 years, (MOT) then, you gotta pay.

You dont expect to buy a produect, to get it home and it fuk up on you. In most cases, you can take it back, but with computer software a lot of companys will refuse to refund it, cos of software piracy, and i doubt EA make it highly known you can get a refund from them.

If you want.. we could kidnap the CEO of the board, and hold him hostage till EA sort there shit out.. just an idea im pitching

Most places don't allow returns of games after they have been opened, even if you have your receipt, unless you're exchanging it for the same game.
