Death sucks, killing people sucks. Normal people dont have the desire to kill or harm other people but situations arise whe military action is in play & things happen.

I believe in balance when it comes to coverage of these types of things because images tend to impact people moreso than stories.

I'm really sorry for this innocent girl. I think it sucks her innocent life has been swept up into something larger than herself. She obviously has nothing to do with this terrible conflict. As the picture shows she appears to be missing at least a foot, perhaps more. But I know that if she lives life will be better for her without Saddam Hussein. She may be wounded but I feel this is still less than the collective damage Saddam's regime would have on her life.

My point is this. Right now there are American forces being held as POWs, we have picutres of this, we have videos of their interviews and of dead Allied/American forces. The British are reporting two men missing, perhaps they may be in the video as well. BUT SOME HOW, SOME WAY I get these images of young, innocent cases of civilian deaths/wounding BUT CAN NOT SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE FORCES OF MY COUNTRY ? What kind of BULLSHIT is this. What is the image this is giving to the world ? Surpress the video/stills of the American/Allied people suffering the consequences of war but freely distribute picutres of wounded little girls.

First : I think it's bullshit we haven't seen that video. It's American forces, American lives...Americans have the right to know whats happening to them.
Second : I'm not supporting censorship, I am in fact opposing it.
Lastly : You can decide which point in this thread had to do with the propaganda machine

Stills we have been given...

This is what happens when the press chooses to "Wait for the Ax to fall" and keep everyone watching so their ratings stay up (Assuming you're refering to CNN specifically). They actually disclosed a small portion this morning on two POWs, a Mexican who'se name I cannot recall, and someone named "Miller". It was about 10 seconds combined of both, and they only stated their names, which leads me to believe that CNN will allow the public to see these videos portion by portion at sparadic times. :-\

Well, it's commercial television. The average American Joe from Ohio does not want to see dead/captured US troops, so there not broadcasting it.
