US SHOOT DOWN RAF JET

This is believed to be the moment a British Air Force Tornado jet was shot down by a US Patriot missile.

Rest of the story found here

Interesting Fact:

In the 1991 Gulf War, nine UK soldiers were killed by their US allies - the same number killed by enemy fire.

Well time to sit back and watch the US play with the justice system to amuse Britain then throw the case out like the Canadians killed in Afganistan. So disrespectful, it all looks like they were fooling us all this time and releasing the pilots of the charges. Good ole multi-national fratricide to teach you about your friends.

Ditto, pilots are supose to activate a communications system that identifies them as friendly. Either way 'friendly fire' deaths are apart of war and are not funny. If the UK or USA had lost 1000 ppl so far this wouldn't be an issue. But because we can do such a BAD ASS job people harp when NORMAL activity occurs...

This is very sad. Remember this though, England:

Two of your own pilots rammed each other in helos, killing one of ours too. It happens. It's part of being a warrior.

Thats is the msot likely case. Why else would ir fire on it? the friendly target thing was messed up on the plane. Becuase there were 40-50 other aircraft all flying there at the same time and thats the only one it fire at. It was at the same time the crazy guy threw grenades into tents.

cnn is just as credible as any other source. it may not give all the news(as it is quite liberal biased) but the news it does give is not exactly 'made up'. when cnn gives a quote from someone, that person actually said it. you just shouldn't use cnn as your only source if you want to hear all the news and not just what liberals want you to see.

lets please not make this 'well our allied forces are better than your allied forces because the other day...'

the point is we are on the same side
the reality is this is war and LOTS of things are going on at the same time

This isn't a pissing contest of who kills the most friendlies. My point is simply this:

Friendlies get killed because people run the equipment. Humans make mistakes. This incident (patriot) wasn't human error, but the others were.
If you give a bunch of humans weapons, and then complicate the situation with troops moving fast, and poor inter-divisional communication, people will make errors. unfortunately those errors are far more serious in the field.

I am just as mad as you are about this. Being killed by the enemy is different than being killed by "allies".

Listen, ACCIDENTS happen behind the trigger, and behind the flight stick. That's the point, but since you need to nitpick, I see there's no reason to continue. And the british had incidents where they killed friendlies in the last war too. It's not like the Americans are running rampant killing eveything that moves. Prove that you have reasoning ability, and think a little before posting anti-american posts. We saved your country from annihilation twice too.

Is this our American agression once again, because some story hungry loser drove into an enemy city while it was being fired upon?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,81916,00.html

What were they supposed to assume? A truck in enemy territory in the line of fire. Fair target.
