I want to find out what my school computer has in it, and how fast it is, but it's got to many security restrictions it. I was wondering if anyone knew a site that tells you this information? Thanks in advance

In the end it doesn't matter if you are who you say you are. You will still mean nothing to me.

When i have kids, everytime i drive past a fast food restaurant, im gonna punch my kid in the face, then they'll never wanna come..

It usually ain't that simple. When I was at college, the computers were so locked down, you could not execute a program with the .exe extension. We found a way around, just use the zip software to execute the program, but you still couldn't find things like system information very easily.

Do they restrict opening up Direct X Diagnosis? That gives you all of your system info.

(windows start button, run, dxdiag)

I go to http://www.alienware.com and go to the congfig of one of their systems and there is a link to "Compare your PC to Alienware's" or something like that. Then it runs a test on your current computer and tells you the hardware of yours and the hardware of the rig you had selected. Also gives you a percentage of how much better their rig is.

If you can, search for AIDA32. As of one week ago, its website went down (its creator moving on). But if you can find ot off download.com or something go for it. It's not web based, but it is one of the best and comprehensive programs out there.

It even does some benchmarking. Looks like its new site also offers free software to do this.

EDIT: Actually go for the one on the website called "Everest". It's the same thing practically. Just a name change.

All of you that say this do not under what he first said. When you are at a school, all the ones I know have very restrictive settings. You cannot go to the Control Panel or Run. Those are blocked for security reasons. Remember to read before you post...

Maybe try holding down the windows key an press "pause".

This brings up the system window but might not work for you if its locked down too much.

He did not say that that specifically was blocked, and you'd be surprised how many people don't know about DXDiag. At my university I can access DXDiag, and the network/computers is/are still extremely restrictive (can't install anything, etc.). Maybe you should read, or rather think before you post.
