RenGuard 1.02 is out. If you had the crashing bug, please download a fresh install from our Downloads page (link on the left) if you can't auto-update.

RenGuard 1.02 fixes several bugs from version 1.02. It also gets rid of dependency of htmlayout.dll, which is an inferior HTML renderer than using your own computer's Internet Explorer.

Please visit our live support chat or the forums if you have any questions.

Please also note that we have released BRenBot 1.35 and SSC 1.02 which fixes the last remaining bugs where a RenGuard user was not being identified as such and kicked.

ok my renegade folder is c:\westwood\renegade thats the installation folder in the renguards setup. I press NEXT and i get this error message: "c:\westwood\renegade . Renguard must be installed in the renegade folder!"

I tried the data folder, same error.

um wtf Confused

windowx xp, 512 mem, 2.6 ghtz, 128 ati radeon 9600. 80 gb hd

Check if a game.exe exists. Try to rename a possible game2.exe to game.exe

Well other than locating a skin I'm missing the auto-update completed from 1.01 to 1.02 fine today. One the first attempt I got my first game.exe caused an IPF, I just re-ran it, and was informed an update would take place, click OK, then while waiting for the ticker bar, it took about a minute. I was patient, and the update came through, and was prompted to create a new firewall rule from NIS, which I did, to permit.

I personally not had a serious issue yet, hitch had trouble with the update, but I removed 1.01 and installed 1.02 on his and it works fine for him again. He to was prompted to create a new firewall rule for game.exe, which he did to permit.

I just restarted my computer and it works fine now. :oops: Weird.

Errr... the crash bug is back. I restarted my computer and launched Renegade without any problems. I quit to post here that it works, and when I return to Renegade, I get the crash when I launch Renegade (and RenGuard). Any suggestions?

Version 1.02 same Problem at me like Version 1.01 . Fresh installed CCR with Patch to Version 1.37 , fresh download from RenGuard.com and nstalled and after a short Connectionmessage in RGWindow it crashed like Version 1.01 . I dont know what i can do , have installed the hole System new , CCR new and then RG and nothing works Crying or Very Sad still crashing after start it . Why dont goin back to Version 1.00 that works maybe with little bugs but it work


See u guys later @Version 1.03 maybe this is running then ?

Put compatibility mode on for Windows 98/ME, trust me, I had the same thing happen on my laptop & this comp. Just go to your Renegade directory (after installing RenGuard), right click "game.exe", go to "Properties," then go to "Compatibility." After you do that click the box where it says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" & then select "Windows 98/ME."
That tends to work for me, I hope it'll do the same for you Very Happy
