This is a video I made detailing a game played on Walls_Flying. I used an Apache.

The video's size is 30.9mb. I chose this size because it is what I found to be the most decent compromise between filesize and video quality (which is not very good, but you can tell what's going on at least). Running time is 4 minutes 30 seconds.

It should be a streamable file as it's WMV in format.

Please give any feedback on what you think about my first Renegade video. Should I increase quality and filesize? Or decrease both? Or stay the same? Any other comments are welcome, too.

I have a TV card on my computer. I hook my TV card up to my VCR. I output the computer's video and sound signals to the VCR. I record the game on a VCR video tape.

By recording games through a VCR tape, your computer's processor does not get lagged down as it would via another method like FRAPS. You can record games at normal gameplay FPS this way.

After the content is on videotape, I simply route the VCR's output signal and connect it to the computer/TV card's input signal. I then use TV card software to record what the VCR is playing.

It's a multistep process but I think it's better than FRAPS for any users without a powerhouse of a computer.

Fairly poor quality for the size of the video file and the actual resolution of teh video. You did well in game though. The nuke of the WF almost didn't get planted, saved that guys ass by far.

Fraps is size unfriendly, a few seconds video can be 120mb, I guess he had to resize it to save some space...

Fraps, as Aprime rightly stated, is unfriendly. It gets the job done but it isn't great.

Not 1, just about 4-10. I had a program that compressed and recorded right on the spot, my fps would be 45 ingame, then about 8 where as with fraps its about 15
