I have a wireless router and I usually get a ping of about 30-90 for online PC games(like BF V and RTCW ET UNREL2k4 SOF2 ect.) Now I was wondering, if I bought a network adapter(for PS2), could I just hook the ethernet cord into the back of the router directly to the network adapter and have it work with no problems, or would it be a better bet to just unplug the router for the time being and just run it directly to the cable modem?

Also, about how much would 30 feet of ethernet cost?

Thanks
Smile

Depends where you buy it and the quality you want:

For example:

50Ft Cat6 Grey - Price: $13.99

Connecting your PS2 through a router, or directly to the cable modem wouldn't gain any noticeable speed. Either way would be about the same.

It depends...If your router has a firewall included you'd have to come straight out of the cable modem. But, if it doesn't have a firewall i'd jus go threw the router and save time instead of unhooking wires.
