UT2k4 how much better would the bots have to be than in BF. The bots in UT are murderous now. No running in a straight line always dodging, wall-hopping, camping on spawn points (that last one pisses me off fucking bots) but they are so much smater than any bot I have come across. Granted I do not have BF:V but Epic's support for theeir games is second to none.

I wouldn't go for BFV, simply because there's a 100% free download mod, called Eve of Destruction, for BF:1942. That mod, only being at version 0.2, already has more in it than the new game does. There aren't any glaring bugs or balance issues, either. And EA would want me to pay...what, $30-$50 for less of a product than what is made by a non-profit mod team? No thank you...

EoD is very buggy and crashs 85% of the time.

^^Once again I agree.

I also notice that so far BF:Vietnam players are all actually good. Mostly because they all jumped directly from BF1942, so its always a challenge!

Type56 and Rpg anyone? Razz

Hmmm...

The reviews say that UT2k4 is better than BF: Vietnam inside and out. Yet, it seems that BF: Vietnam is more popular among the populous than UT2k4. Interesting...

I got UT2004, as for the speed thats relative to the server most put the speed at 120%, it can be turned down. Onlaught and Assualt mode are VERY team oriented. Not to mention the game comes with about 100 maps to play on. Many are turning out OS maps already. Smile I dont like deathmatch that much, and I hate capture the flag, but assualt and onsluaght more than make up for that. DOM maps are fun as well.

To even play BFVM I'm going to have to get another 512 of ram and a better video card if i want good smooth play. With UT it requires less.
Although BF does have a higher player count.

UT is/was/willbe a much faster game to play. I will get BF:V tonite and see if the implovements warrant more participation. However, the updated Unreal Engine is nothing short of spectacular. I get better visuals more frames over 2k3.

see a server list

<sigh>

BF:V unexpected crashes to desktop the bots are still pretty stupid. They are much better than they were but that wouldn't be hard

Why didn't you get the DVD version?

Some people don't have $80-100 DVD Drives.

slayer

I've bought ut2004. I played the demo alot. so I decided to buy it. but for some damn reason, the serial code is wrong Mad Evil or Very Mad . so I went back to the shop where I've bought it. I got a new one, I tried to install it. and again, the damn serial code is incorrect Mad Evil or Very Mad . so I went back again. now I have to wait till monday. then they call to the producer Mad . I nearly trew the game + my computer through the window Mad

ps. I tried a key generator. it worked. ut2004 has 6 damn cd's. when I tried to install it with the key gen code, the installation crashed when I needed to put cd 3 in my computer. man... fuck the damn game

Your computer sucks. You probably don't have enough space (6.5GBs) or you forgot to include the dashes.

I have yet to experience a any crashes and I run it all out on video and sound. And why don't you move that little lever for AI settings from "Easy" past "Normal" all the way to "Hard". I tried the Demo for UT and was not impressed. Confused

Oh well toeach their own. As long as we all have a game we like.

That is why they call it Unreal

I did change the bots but when one stands in front of a tnk and the bot in the tank does nothing.

But lets face it BF:V and UT2k4 are both meant to be online games. I finally got server listings late monday but mots of the servers I could get onto lagged (until I get DSL again I can't get much online)

^Yah there was this problem last week about horrible lag online. It seems that has all been fixed. Mine doesnt lag hardly ever, of course you have to select good servers as well. I have tons of fun with the game and play it whenever I get free time after work and between my personal life. Not much playing time, but Ill take that 30 minutes to an hour playing this game then sleeping!

PS: Has anyone tried the wirecutters online? Oh so fun, nothing like jacking up a few Cobras and Huey's then watching a crap load of peeps run it in, then BOOM as soon as they get two feet off the ground! MWAHAHAHa
Very Happy

The only reason BFV is more popular is because of all its damn publicity on GSA and the internet.

The only reason UT is so popular is pretty much the same reason there simo, not to mention the UT series is someting like 3+ years old and the BF series is about 1.5

ut2004 easy, the game looks great and the onslaught mode is simply awesome. I would recomend the onslaught mode for any clan to add as a game, the maps are well thought out and the pace isnt really that fast, basically the perfect "replacement" for renegade. The vehicles are great especially the manta and leviathan (takes 5 people to pilot it)

buy it now!!!

we got a UT2004 server up on gamespy, feel free to pop in for a few frags Smile
DFC@Teamplay. server located in europe, i ping 20ms to it Very Happy

the only downside is the load times (about 2 minutes on my pc) and the 5.4gb install Shocked
