Start Renegade (the client), then launch the FDS. The check only happens the other way around.

or get 2 computers

1 problem with hosting and playing one your FDS is the FPS will eb dodgey and for some reason people get alot of warp not drag but teleporting

It's not the best idea....Gameplay is below average when you do it. Also when the FDS starts loading a map and your Ren client starts loading a map you can be in for a wait.

Step 1: get on a different computer, use it as a designated server for Ren.
Step 2: get on a seperate non-FDS comptuer and boot up Ren.
Step 3: Join your server.
