First of all, Merry Christmas from Dri Reign!

After some thought I have decided to release the Promo movie for the Renegade:Sole Suvivor mod. Please keep in mind that nothing in there is final, but we hope you enjoy it anyway. Sole Suvivor will have:
-All new models!
-Tons of maps!
-4 Games Modes, Silos, Sole Survivor, CTF, and Convoy!
-AI Skirmish maps!
-A working crate system!
-Many other nifty things!

Sole Survivor would be _so much better_ if the artistic aspect of the units was improved.

The tanks really haven't gotten any better, and the soldiers honestly look like toy soldiers.

The levels are pretty good looking, as is usual with Rhino's work.

The art for units just leaves a lot to be desired. Some structures probably need a bit of touching up, too.

As I said before......needs more ownage.....hehehe

If you look at the textures from a Cartoony/cell shaded perspective it is all a nice change. Plus there are few minor bugs, and just plain fun to play.....well as long as you dont pick up a "regen" crate......then all hell breaks lose.

Yes... as I 've said, it looks like a toy. The light tank should resemble the M2 Bradley IFV. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/m2.htm

Also I wonder... why did they have to remake the APC and MLRS? Why they wouldn't just use the models from Westwood and improve them?

I'm working on TD mod for Renegade too, but the main problem which prevents it from progressing is lack of decent modelers. I can make graphics, edit sounds but not 3d models.

I think they wanted to have all of their own vehicles.

And if anyone here has actually played the beta online, it is amazing fun. All the different game modes make it very interesting. SS beta2 even kicks reborns ass(refering to the shitty new public release).

It isn't RA2, that about all I know about it, alot of the stuff looks cartoonish and plasticy other than that it looks promising, better than Reborn since I can't get the thing to work.

Off Topic: When will the next RenAlert patch be released? I would have thought today for sure.

Sole Survivor was an online version of Tiberian Dawn back in 1995/1996. This mod just impliments the different game mods and style of gameplay that Sole Survivor had into Renegade.

If SS is an online version of TD, then thats exactly what Renegade is.
Renegade is based on TD except an FPS. And if the SS mod is gonna also be based on TD, like Renegade, and is the same engine as renegade, whats there to mod?

Despite that oddity, it still looks cool. The maps look great, and most of the vehicles look sweet also, but I agree with ACK that the soldiers need some work and the light tank also could look more dynamic.

And good job on adding CTF.

Sole Survivor was not an online version of TD. It's essentially a multiplayer, single-unit game using TD's infantry and vehicles. It bears some similarity to Renegade in that you can only control one unit. Crates allow you to upgrade your armour, firepower, health, speed, reload rate, stealth etc.

Unfortunately, keeping TD's control scheme didn't help it, nor did the fact that a fully upgraded unit could destroy you before it even appeared on your screen!

It was fun for a while, but ultimately died a deserving death.

It looks good. The vehicles actually look pretty good as well. The pics on the website don't really do them justice. My only complaint is that some of the soldiers don't look all that good. Especaily the flame thrower. And the minigunner. Its not so much the "plastic" look as it is they just don't look to have as good quality as the vehicles. Other than that, this looks pretty sweet. Can't wait for release.
