I guess the folks reading this forum probably are NOT the target of this "advice". But for the sake of reiterating the obvious, do not just scream "building needs repair"- it is vague and creates a panic run by teammates all over the place. Save that command for when you need it.
All to often a player is screaming "building needs repair" over and over, and the whole team pulls back from the front line to protect the base, when I press K, I can see that none of the buildings are hurt.

If you are genuinely concerned about whether or not a building is in danger, press K and find out.

Also instead of typing over and over "too many mines!" just hit J and see who else is hotwire/tech and page them Smile

Yes I always use the K button...

Also to get information on the game like host name, winning conditons number of playes exedra...

The J key is also handy especially in sniper games as it tells you what character your team mate is and can tell you if they are in a vechile and what vechile they are. Use this key to help the host find the un-coprative n00bs...

I know exactily what you mean. The first thing I do when I join a game in progress is hit "k" (well actually "5" on my numpad since i use the arrows) to see what the base status is. There's nothing worse than hearing "GDI Power Plant is under attack" while you're a tech inside repairing and someone on the other end of the map is spamming:
"Building need repair"
"Building need repair"
"Building need repair"
"Building need repair"
"Building need repair"
Also, good point by Blazer. I use the "j" ("4") alot, but I never thought of using it for that purpose.

Ouch. You must have been in the game the other day when I lost my temper and kept screaming at the n00bs. I had to remine the power plant 3 times in 5 minutes on a game of City_Flying. the problem is that any idiot engineer could be throwing remotes around and eating up our mine total. I just kept screaming "dont mine! dont mine! dont mine!" LOL.
f*cking spammer! Very Happy

Ditto Gizbotvas, the J & K key are your friends -- and should be used MANY times during a match !! If your going for the team effect it's adviseable to check out what everyone else is doing so you dont fall into the 'we have 3 snipers in a 6v6 game' type of thing.

The most common issue I see is too many engies or techs at all the wrong times ! However on Mesa the other day (I have SShot I'll post later) my team did a bad ass job of pulling the PP back up from RIGHT NEXT TO DEAD ! It was sweet !

Every time I join a game the first thing I do is :
1) get and engie
2) make sure buildings are full health
3) make sure harvey is full health
4) make sure no enemy are lurking around the base (inc apc/buggy etc)
5) rep vehics & infi in field

By this time I've done some good for the team and have enough $$ to do something else.

This is all too true, although it is quite annoying whenn all Engies (includin Hotwire/Techs) leave the base for an APC rush while we are supposed to abandon our $1000 Characters and repair the base.

When walking, I always press K repeatedly and fast to check how fast a building is being attacked/repaired. That rules out a sniper who shot the ref from over half the map Razz

as soon as they hear Eva say 'BLABLA under attack'
* building needs repair [/SPAM]
FFS
you would think that we would maybe realise that the building MIGHT need repairs if Eva said it was under attack. The amount of times I have been in a game and a sniper bullet has hit a building and Eva says her piece, instant spam *building needs repair*

Ever thought about sending a couple of quick Ctrl+9's? Team message of "I'm in position." You should find that most people stfu after you mention that.

You guys should ALL use Renegade AutoComplete, no joke. You can fill the messages with relevant details of WHICH building that is under attack, instead of the vague "Building needs repairs".

I usually send a "repbar" command followed by Ctrl+1, another "repbar" and one more Ctrl+1. This works wonders, it's amazing how many people decide to co-operate because they know which building to defend.

ok, i may have spammed the "Building needs repair" once or twice, but only when i am standing at the MCT, and there entire attack force it pounding that building, and the rest of the team is just off wondering around....

then... i spam it like crazy with a "refin" in there everyonce in a while, or "pp", just to kind of hint that we are getting our ass kicked

ditto...the more I spam...the more urgent it is to repair it...and 90 percent of the time I'm the one inside repairing at the time
