I've FINALLY got around to hosting a dedicated server, but i can't exactly find any good information on how to edit the server's characteristics, etc. Nor can i find any great programs to help me do so. I have found a few, but i'd let to get into editing server stas Myself. So if anyone can point me in the directipon of some good programs, tutorials, et. it would be appreciated.

In the interests of stating the obvious.

There are two .ini files in the installation tree that let you set basic options such as map orders and max players.

If you want more control download BR.net:

http://www.blazeregulator.com/

Or write your own Regulator Wink

Razz Yes, i know about them, and have changed the main settings. I've hosted many a dedicated server in my day so .ini files have fast become my friends lol! But i was looking for some more advanced programs or command utilities to do a little bit more than the basic stuff...The programs I've found so far seem to be pretty dull when it comes to editing the mp experience on renegade. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

thats because editing the MP experience in Ren is a tad dull, there isn't alot of server side stuff you can do with Ren like other games.

Hmmm...I downloaded blazeregulator and it seems like it might be an intersting program but...it won't run on my computer. Which is to say it's probably not xp compatible? It asks me to install the .Net framework when i try to install it in any case. However, br.net offers no such framework on it's main site? Anyone who can offer me a tip or two, or has had similar problems feel free to speak up. I think i need a bit of help! Confused [/quote]

sorry i forgot the specs. I'm running xp, 2.4 gHz pentium 4, Sis Video card, and um....yeah that should be all that's necessary. Like i said i think it's a compatibility problem. Usually i don't have system req. issues on this pc.
