I got a amd athlon xp 2400+ but when Im booting my computer up ot says 1800+ why? Confused

Change your FSB to 133 using BIOS.

When ever I bump the fsb to a level where my comp says it is a 2400+ it restarts it self and chnges the settings back to normal.

when leaving the BIOS make sure you choose Exit With Saving !!! then press Y instead of enter Razz

What about when I boot up Enemy Territory it says I still have a Pentium III & now I have a Pentium 4?

Would that be same reason? Confused

What I meant to say is, I change it, It boots up to the desktop, then restarts and changes the settings to default. Right now I got it up too a 2200+

Maybe your CPU fan is not providing enough cooling for it.
