Can't see player names anymore? [message #488646]

I'm not sure what happened, but the last couple weeks I can no longer tell whose who in Renegade. None of the player names appear on the characters.

I have no clue how this happened, as I don't use skins or anything else...simply join a game and start playing when I have time.

Any ideas what is causing this? Tried reinstall Tiberian Technologies again, but it didn't help the situation. It's like i'm missing a font or something?

Check HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Westwood\Renegade\Networking\Options\ShowNamesOnSoldi er, it's probably set to 0 and it needs to be 1.

Long time and well respected Renegade community member, programmer, modder and tester.

Scripts 4.0 private beta tester since May 2011.

I believe you can (or, could, at some point in Renegades past) set that via the ingame options menu. It's useful for recording video footage, before the days of the disable hud console command.

The option is under "Multiplayer" in the options menu, top check box, don't know why people would edit the registry to do this lol.

hahahaha wow, I never knew that existed. I remember there were options about Asian languages and profanity blocking in the MP settings menu when Renegade came out (I know they're still there), but I never messed with it.
