2 June 2013 - a prototype robot is created, a Paranoid Android. nobody really likes it except sci-fi fans who love it, but it hates them
9 July 2013 - lightning strikes the Tesco head office and infuses one of the tills with a soul; this till starts designing a new generation of tills connected to a central mainframe
29 July 2013 - Tesconet becomes self-aware
29 July 2013 - we aren't sure who struck first, us or the machines, but we know it was we who scorched the sky. Then we remembered they aren't solar powered so we felt a bit silly about it
30 July 2013 - Tesco invades Denmark
2 August 2013 - "The Event" - nobody's quite sure what happened but there are only a few thousand people left and most of them are now blind
