Well, as the topic suggest. I can't move in renegade. I reinstalled it just fine today, and I can navigate the server lists, but when I join a game, I can't do anything, not even exit. I have to use the task messenger to close it. So, any help on fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Installed any scripts lately? Since i heard this is caused by no scripts.

Liquedv2, yew need to branch out a little on your thinking. I'm sure you'll twig it soon enough, but you're barking up the wrong tree.
The map is budding with new ideas and great game-play, AitcraftKiller just has to get to the root of the problem, it seems to have him pretty stumped right now.
Leaf him alone, he's doing a good job. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say this map isn't fir you.
Anyway, this thread is really starting to lumber along, all this over some sap's map? I thought the game was dead, but this thread at least is poplar. It makes me pine for the days of yonder.
At the end of the day, life's a Beech.. Who wood of thought it?

I suggest deleting scripts.dll, make a copy of scripts2.dll and rename that copy to scripts.dll.
If those dont work, i suggest you delete a .dll that begins with a D8

this problem happened to be about 2 or so times. And it happened yesterday for me. I am playing TFD Renegade on Windows Vista with CP2 and scripts 3 (pure mode).
I too don't know what exactly causes this and each time it happened I had to solve it by a clean reinstall like today. Usually, the symptoms are some extreme lag following by a lost connection to server and then a complete crash of my Renegade back to my desktop.
And when I click to play Renegade again, my keyboard goes dead so I would have to watch the EA logo animation and the short orangey intro scene. After that I can click the menu options and get into a server but my keyboard and mouse would be dead after joining the game while I am left staring into the PT. So I have to press the Windows key or ctrl-alt-del to go back to desktop and start taskmanager to close. Restarting doesn't work either.
It rarely happens but its a tad bit troublesome to reinstall when it does. but I have my discs/serial in a safe place so no problems.
just a few thoughts...

Are you using the numpad for movement? If so, delete the content in keys.cfg (data folder) and try again.

This happened again just now after I changed my key config in-game. I figured it was something with my keys configuration and didn't want to reinstall so I played around with the files in my Data folder. I deleted everything in my config folder including CONFIG.DAT
After starting up Rene again, the problem is gone and a new CONFIG.DAT file is generated. So atleast for me it was nothing with Core Patch.
Thought I would share.
