Look at this video.
From what I understand, corporations will now be able to influence and reward politicians' actions in Congress and every other aspect of American Government.
I'm absolutely stunned. This is NOT what our founding fathers intended. This certainly not what America is about either. I'm honestly worried about the future of my country. I hope I'm not just overreacting either, I think this may be a big problem for our future.

Because corporations are treated as an individual, and have the same rights, this technically IS a fair judgement.
However, morally it's very troubling, and the political gap between the majority public and the wealthy has grown over nine thousand percent.

How can this possibly be fair judgement? A corporation is a collection of people in combination with large amounts of money. So, how should/can these corporations be treated as one entity? They are a business, and the right to vote is given to American citizens, and the last time I checked, a corporation is NOT a citizen.

the american political structure is definitely better than ours, but i will say one thing for the british version. my fellow brits will remember a few lords (unelected, of course) taking bribes from companies about a year ago?
universal outrage tbh. everyone agreed we mustn't have this.
i would go further and say we shouldn't have a house of lords at all, of course, nor a monarchy or an established church...

I guess I never learned that. What a load of shit.
What I also find puzzling is that there is a limit on how much an individual can contribute to a campaign of $500, I think. My government teacher said it was $250, but a quick google seach said it was $500. If this is true, you would think this rule should apply to the corporations, who is considered one 'entity.'

So, if I read the wiki article right, some members in the House of Lords have a birth right to be a Lord? That does seem like a strange today. A democracy makes more sense to me, and I can see you think the same. But why does it matter anymore? Corporate America wins in the end.

I'm unaware of America's contribution rules, but I think I recall Entertainment Tonight doing election coverage last year, and their 'report' was on how much coin celebrities contributed to Mac's and Obama's campaigns.
The numbers ran in the tens of thousands, so I was under the impression that individuals weren't really limited in their donations. Then again, a quick search says that the maximum donation to candidates is $4,600 bucks.
I'm confused now lol.

Thing is, this has nothing to do with Obama, nor even Bush really. The judges were just interpreting the constitution, and even then, it was a narrow 5-4 vote.
Frankly, as bad as it is, I'm at least happy your Supreme Court actually interprets your constitution, instead of my country's court's habit of just making dumb legislation without public/parliamentary consent.
Obama is apparently looking at his options for this, because this comes at a really bad time for him. Right now, he's pitching huge taxes on banks, and this ruling, even though he has nothing to do with it, jeopardizes his 'Main Street' pitch.
Also, there could be a silver lining in this. It's a well known fact that corporations channel their money through different special interest groups and groups, which lets them donate lots of money to political parties in a dubious manner. At least this way, maybe they won't use those tactics, and instead donate their funds as one entity, which makes it a bit cleaner, and easier for people to see who is bankrolling who.

They get around the limits using what are called Political Action Committees. They basically give the money to someone else to donate for them. It's a facilitated loophole.

Yeah, this actually has nothing to do with Obama. Infact, if you hadn't noticed, the democrats are also against this shit. I dunno how many, but it doesn't really matter I don't think.
That being said, this isn't a political thing at all. If you're in the US, I recommend actually doing with Grayson said- try and make a big deal out of it to your congressman and etc. Unless there really is some secret illuminati bullshit going on and all the congressman are in on it, I'm sure they'd be willing to listen to enough pissed off people whose donations matter a whole lot less than some giant monopoly corporation...
