According to Microsoft, who i just talked to about this *Hotfix* does not even Concern GMax or any other Discreet Utility. This fix is for a instability in MSN Explorer, and the Send error window.

I am still recieving the Hotfix, but i'd like to know, has anyone else used this and tested it yet? Does it work for what its not meant to?

Well microsoft would say that. I doubt they would take responsability for a fault caused by there own product that affects a competitors product. This fault probably happens to occur in MSN Explorer and this patch also fixes a fault in it as well as resolving the gmax problem.

Who did you contact for the patch. Did you email them?

Well, actually, i called them at the number discreet tells you to. but i want to make sure that someone here has used it and can vouch for it. they also said that since its a Primiere hotfix, itts generally unstable until the real one comes out at the end of the month

On the official gmax forums, it appears the beta hotfix is doing well with its testers.

You can survive without the patch that fixs the worm attack it you want to.

Go into msconfig by typing "msconfig" in "Run" in the start menu. From there go to the tab "StartUp" and look for "msblast.exe" and uncheck it. From there, restart your system. When it boots, a window will appear, just check the tick box in it to stop it appearing again. You can now remove the "XPKBwhatevernumberitis". Once done, reinstall both GMax and the Ren Tools and you're all safe to go with it all working. You can now search for the "msblast.exe" on your comp and delete it. From then, I'd advise you use a decent Firewall like Zone Alarm to keep it out until the worm clears. I did this and my comp is fine with GMax working fine...

But if there is a fix in the works, then I suppose this method is pointless. Smile
