So wait ... you have 585Gb of memory?

Can this thread now be about the gameshark for the old Nintendo systems? Those things were fun to mess around with!

It's not really possible to have negative space, but an app can certainly misread on how much memory you have. I've never seen it happen to me though.

Well maybe it shows how much memory you are short???

Meaning that a negative number means you got room to spare and positive would be what you are short Thumbs Up

And maybe because the number is negative it will stop if the value is bigger than a certain value so it doesnt has to check all 500GB

memory...
Wrong. You do not have 585GB of RAM. That's far from possible on any consumer level grade PC you can get today. Even really high end end servers usually don't have as much (some really good ones might have 64GB or 128GB or more). You'd practically need a super computer, ala, a cluster of many high end PCs, to have that kind of RAM. Not counting old stuff, most modern PCs take between 1GB and 16GB, with 2GB to 4GB being far common, and 8GB and up being higher end. 585GB is the size of your hard disk (probably a 640GB drive), so that'd be space, not memory.

As for the original post, I've had the EAsy Info tool for an older game read me as having like 1MB or -1MB (can't remember which) of main system RAM when I have 8GB. The game had a requirement of like 128MB or something.

Which is STORAGE, not MEMORY and you had previously stated it was memory and not storage when asked which you meant. Hence you were WRONG to say it was memory and that is why Chuck Norris corrected you.
