The story is actually really good. That game just has WAY to much fucking about in it.
Portal is a good call to (who ever said that). The fan made sequel isn't half bad either.

Lol, Renegade's campaign storyline isn't great, but playing it on Commando might be fun.

Unreal 2 (Really good singleplayer but no multiplayer, which is probably why it got so overlooked, but I enjoyed it alot)
Halflife 2
HL2 EP.2 (one was okay but defiantly didn't meet up to episode two and didn't beat the original two)
Oblivion
Fallout 3 (Oblivion still offers more mods)
Halo 1,2,3
Homeworld
Homeworld Cataclysm
C&C games... the Westwood produced ones

DeadSpace PWNS! That was such a good game. Bioshock is pretty similar, but with a better story, imo.
Oblivion, Fallout, Halo's (Just got ODST yesterday!), are all great as well (Though Oblivion and Fallout are in a whole different level than the Halo's).
I dunno why so many ppl keep recommending HalfLife 2, for me, the game was barely above par. Not much of a story, graphics were meh, resolution gave me a headache, combat was nothing special. I did enjoy the Ravenholm mission and infiltrating the Citadel though, but fun moments like that were few and far between.

Liquedv2, yew need to branch out a little on your thinking. I'm sure you'll twig it soon enough, but you're barking up the wrong tree.
The map is budding with new ideas and great game-play, AitcraftKiller just has to get to the root of the problem, it seems to have him pretty stumped right now.
Leaf him alone, he's doing a good job. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say this map isn't fir you.
Anyway, this thread is really starting to lumber along, all this over some sap's map? I thought the game was dead, but this thread at least is poplar. It makes me pine for the days of yonder.
At the end of the day, life's a Beech.. Who wood of thought it?

What makes Halo good is the combat. And storywise, the first Halo had a better story than HL2, imo.
