In my opinion players who use loads of different names are probably trying to hide something, like the fact they are a known cheater or someone who was banned from a server for some other reason. Why would you even NEED more than one login name, it's not as if you can play against yourself...

I can think of one reason. If a freind wants to play it on your computer. However, that only constitutes having 2 names.
Also, if you care about what online gamers think of your skills (lol) and you ever want to mess around in a match without actually trying then a person might switch names.

Believe it or not some people might see a nick-name like a piece of clothing, in they'd rather not keep the same one out of staleness....but that's just certain people...
I've had the name futura83 for ages now, which was my login name for a site i used to own, which is why i used it...that and it's unique as far as i know.
