This whole thing is idiotic. DRM only hurts the legitimate customers, it does NOTHING to stop pirates. And an install limit is dumb, I know for a fact that thanks to upgrades, running out of space on my HDD, and corrupted files that I have installed or reinstalled just about every game I have ever owned at least 5 or 6 times. More in the case of RA2 and YR. EA is only hurting themselves, the more they do this crap the more people will decide that buying the game isn't worth it, and the more people who will pirate it.

I don't "STEAL", I field aquire
Thanks for the free particle cannon! Wink

Think about it. A lot of the outraged fans are outraged because they weren't only planning on buying it, they were looking forward to buying it. EA enforcing some restrictions isn't really going to stop everyone, but it really is going to piss a lot of people off.

What kind of logic is that?! People aren't upset about having DRM that limits the installer of some game they just bought, they are upset that it is specifically in Red Alert 3.

People want it because it is RA3. It having DRM is an entirely different, yet still offensive, matter.

Hmm.. I might not get it if it has DRM. Besides, Petrogylph is a far superior game maker.

Of course they can, and its been done already. Spore has been pirated more times than its been legally bought (500k last time I checked.)

This is one of the reasons so many people are pissed off. It restricts you so much, and it doesn't even work..

yeah

Limit of 5 installs? I've had to reinstall Renegade over 20 times since I bought the damn game... and I sure as hell would protest that DRM shit if they shoved it up another C&C games ass.

I neither like or agree with what they've done here but I'm a sucker for Red Alert games so will be a chump and buy it. Even if it does mean somewhere down the line I ironically need to download a pirate version of the game to install it again.

The limit of 5 installs means on 5 different PC's..... And btw you can only install XP on one PC (IE it has a limit of one install).
