Hello players,
So i lost my Renegade disc like 1 year ago and i never really got over it, i bought a new disc and it's coming tommorow on the 12e. I saw some people saying that play online anymore because the server went down.
Can you please answer this questions?
- Is it true?
- If it's true, can you just connect online?
- Are there still some people playing?
Thank you for your time reading or even answering my questions ^_^
( no flamers please i looked everywere for answers even went on the chatboxes )

The account system sucks, however it is very, very easy to make a name.
All you need to do is in the login screen make up a name and then type in an 8 character password. If the name isn't taken, then BAM, new name created.

That is the thing getting a name that is not taken.
Maybe i might be able to keep my Distrbd21 name if i remember the pass to it lol

When XWIS took over, the names and passwords weren't transferred over. It won't matter if you remember the password or not; either someone already has it or when you try to login, the account will be yours and the password you used will be the password. You can take a quick search using the search feature to find out more information.

Sorry but when i started ( 6 years ago )i didn't care about how i could connect, only that i could play online ( first game online ever )
So i don't know what this XWIS and WOL are.
from the reply's above me i guess XWIS was the first server that let you play online on C&C Renegade and WOL is the new one because XWIS didn't want to do it anymore.
This happend or did something else happen?

Don't forget to download the must-have-outdated RenGuard software that will "prevent cheats". This software is a must if you want to play on a few popular servers. Without this software you will automatically be kicked out of the games/servers.

Are you serious... You are just trying to scare this guy away by saying that. I have yet to come across a pure server these days. I stopped using Renguard for 1-2 years now and I never really got kicked for not using it besides one time when some people I know pulled a joke on me and forcerg'd me 3 times.
IMO all he needs to do is install Renegade, update to the newest version (unless he has TheFirstDecade) and login with preferred nickname and password which will be assigned to his serial if successful. After this he should consider downloading scripts 3.4.4. and a No-CD crack.
