This big machine is going to be turned on in a few days, loads of people think it's going to destroy the earth.
I don't think it's going to harm us in any way really.

Dying by a black hole, How much of a fucking awesome death would that be?

Besides, they're smashing particles together at 7000mph, not the speed of light, nothing bad will happen, there is more of a chance another planet colliding with us than this thing making a black hole.

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

You make an excellent point.. If there was a overhead Camera filming it live on a big ass TV so I can watch myself watching my own death.. whao mind fuck of awesome.

Although it would be an awesome death, the awesomeness is negated simply by the fact that the researchers are Swiss. I do not want to be killed by people who are 'neutral' all the fucking time and make chocolate that punctures your cheek.

I forgot to add that the LHC is actually going to be turned on in October, The one that's gonna happen in 4 days is a test of some sorts.

Nothing has been proven to happen, the only people criticizing the project aren't very creditable and probably on crack. They don't know what they're talking about. No one knows exactly what will happen, but we do know what won't happen. The thought of "mini black holes consuming the planet" and "stranglets" is ridiculous.

These collisions that we're experimenting with happen every second of every day in nature (but with much much much more energy), the reason to build such a thing is to see what exactly happens when they collide.

Yea, people are worried about mini-black holes and crap. Even though they do have a chance of being created, these mini-black holes are almost microscopic... so there is nothing to worry about.
