What's you suggestions? I am going to retire my 10 year old trustworthy Philips 17" CM2300...

I would like a widescreen but don't like the horizontal stretching it brings though I can get used to it...

Or should I just buy a big flatscreen...

!help!

Wait, is this a Television monitor or a computer monitor?

If it is a computer monitor, I would suggest widescreen. Because you can change the resolution is such ways that it eliminates the stretching. That way you wont be annoyed by the stretching and in times that you want the widescreen features, you have them.

I'd recommend widescreen - Because of the way Windows lays out the taskbar, you get slightly more screen real estate (unless you're on vista and you have the sidebar set to "Always On Top").

As r315r4z0r said, If you're using a resolution appropriate for your display, there's really no stretching to speak of.

1440x900 ftw. I actually was somewhat dissapointed with it when I first got it because I wanted a fullscreen and not a widescreen, but Renegade doesn't strech when you use one. So its a win win situation.

Good to know we can configure it so it does not stretch...though I see myself playing more RTS in the future...so a WS may help I think.

I love my 30" LCD Hazro Monitor - it has 2560*1600 resolution. Expensive though, cost me nearly £900!

Ever since I went wide, 4:3 just looks too funky.

I'm quite overly happy with my Acer 22" Widescreen. Does me good (1680x1050). I don't think I will ever buy a fullscreen again.

Make sure you get one with a swivel so that you can change your monitor to a vertical position for web-site viewing.

I've got a 17" laptop with a secondary 19" screen. Both widescreens running 1440x900 resolution. Works amazing.

I have a Samsung 21.6" widescreen, and I absolutely love it. If you love to watch DVD's, and high-definition material on your computer, you'd do well do get a widescreen monitor.

I toss my vote in for widescreen as well. I have a 24" widescreen at home (a Dell) and another 24" at my store (a Samsung) and they are awesome.

If I really wanted to geek out, I could use the 36" LCD TV I have on the wall at my store as a monitor too. Razz
