It's staged and is not real. That doesn't mean they don't get hurt, because they sure as hell do.

Wrestling isn't all fake, they are trained to perform many stunts and they are quite acrobatic. I think that's right, but I'm not sure, its what I've heard.

Partly fake, partly not fake. Depends what they're doing, though.

WWE Wrestling is staged, About 10-20 years ago it was real, but the problem is, is that wrestlers died so they changed regulations and now it's staged.

heck, even the winners and losers are chosen, lol.

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

sorry even 25 years ago as teenagers we would argue if Wrestling was fake and even the most hard core wrestling fans would agree,
"Yeah it's fake...but so are movies."

It's fake, but it's actually better that way. You get good storylines (mostly), better fighting, and everything. Everyone knows it's fake, but alot enjoy it anyway.

When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding.

When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn’t lifting himself up, he’s pushing the Earth down.

To each their own and all that... but please tell me you did not use the words "good" and "storyline" in reference to professional wrestling? I can't believe that the view in popular culture of what constitutes a good storyline has fallen so far as to consider two man-mountains beating each other senseless on TV an actual story?

I can understand the "it's fun to watch people hurting each other" angle- it worked for the Romans, after all, though at least we've made it as far as outlawing straight-up bloodsport.

I can also understand the "watch a star ascend to greatness" angle, because it can be very satisfying to see the competitor you've been rooting for beat out all of his opponents and become a champion. But please, I beg you, don't mistake that for a storyline, much less a good one. To do that is to cheapen the efforts of every writer in existence.

"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived of the use of them." - Thomas Paine

Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.

Blood = real (note: shallow cuts on the head have a habit of bleeding more than would seem normal from a shallow cut... but a shallow cut is all it usually is)

Hits = real (note: they literally learn how to take a hit so that, while it connects, it really doesn't do too much damage. Ever see what happens when a dropkick misses but the guy still goes down like it hit?), depending on what they are being hit with. Tables, ladders and chair? Real impacts. Sledgehammers? not likely. If it sounds like a metallic clang, its an impact... if they step forward and stop the ground as they hit, usually not.

Stunts = real, but with "every" safety measure taken.. including lessons on how to make something look worse than it really is.

Scripted performance = real

Heh, why do you think so many wrestlers are seen in movies? They've taken the acting lessons. I'm not saying they are GOOD actors, but they are still actors.

Lighten up guys. I don't enjoy wrestling myself much anymore, and I know they aren't Oscar worthy, but there are stories behind the feuds (I never said the fighting, or wrestling, itself was a storyline). You can denounce them, but they ARE there. I'm not dragging down good writers by saying these storyline are good. You're dragging down writing itself by saying a form of it isn't. Just because I don't enjoy wrestling much anymore doesn't mean I have to be either ignorant or too elite to acknowledge the stories involved, but apparently you two seem to be.

this is like arguing that Grey's Anatomy is real
everyone knows wrestling is fake; that's not the point, and people don't watch it because they think it's real

i've never really understood this debate in general
