Now the my house is wired with c6+ throughout in 22 different places we have 3 computers running with TV's as monitors. They have always been really fuzzy when it comes to displaying text and it seems like an aliasing problem. From what I've read this is impossible to fix but that doesn't seem right.

One of the TV's is in our living room and is HD. It's connected to the computer via VGA connection. I was thinking this one would show up clear as ever but it doesn't.

No matter what resolution is used on any of the setups I still have the same problem. Am I screwed or has someone found a fix in the last few years?

TVs aren't meant to be used as monitors, you will not get the same quality picture with a TV as you do with a monitor.

Try using the HDMI port instead of the D-Sub.

TVs have less pixels over a much greater area. Even 1080p isn't much bigger than your standard 19" widescreen resolution, yet the pixels are spread over 40" or more of space, so they need to be much larger. That's what causes the low quality for things like small print on a website.

If any improvement is to be gained, it'd probably come from using an HDMI port to connect to the HD TV.

Wouldn't that mean I would need something like this:

If the TV is the weakest link wouldn't there be some kind of converter available to go from a standard DVI or VGA to HDMI. Althought after reading over that blog post I noticed HDMI can carry sound?

What graphics card do you have now? Yeah that card would work but its not exactly a good card.

I don't understand why you would want a converter? If you have a HD Ready TV then it should come with a HDMI port on the back. Where and why does the converter come into play?

Ya I don't spend to much time with high end computers but I have yet to see one with an HDMI connection.

I'm thinking I might just not worry about the fuzzyness. Our basement will be getting a top of the line projector and that should show up fine. Until then most of the tv's are being used for games and those show up fine. Public chat in renengade seems to be the only one thats hard to read.

Try changing the font Renegade uses?

You really need to get some monitors. Unless your projector is an HD projector and you are planning to run it through at least an S-video connection it will still be incredibly fuzzy. My 9 year old Hitachi CRT runs at close to twice the resolution of my room mates brand new 32" HD LCD TV. When I dual monitor onto that tv you can't read anything. TV's just aren't designed to be used like that.
