Just wanted to tell everyone that in a few hours, (hopefully) I'll be a new dad 
Girlfriends water broke at 5:30 PM EST.

Sad situation? I don't agree with being 17 and a father, but having a child isn't a "sad situation". If you're looking forward to having a kid, it's a great time. Sure, he may not be ready for it, and I do feel somewhat bad for the kid based on what I know about 17 year olds raising kids. Who knows, he may be ready. Generally, though, I can't believe he is. Still... a child birth is a wonderful thing.

I personally think having a kid @ 17 is a bit young, by at least a year (closer to 2 tbh).
I'm 20 and have yet to allow any girl I've been with get pregnant. Of course, I'm also the kind of person who wants to be financially prepared before the fact.
Anyway, hope all goes well for you and that you don't end up breaking up with her (be it her decision or your's), for your kid's sake.
Just a small bit of advice: don't drink heavily (eg: don't get drunk) or do drugs for that matter (before having a kid on both of these is one thing, afterward can mess the kid up down the line), treat the kid right (not really spoiled, not abused) and the kid will turn out to be an alright person when they grow up (not to mention won't hate you). 
Just my opinions, thought I'd share since they seem to be fairly relevant.

Oh, I have my full family behind me.
I'm noy raising this kid alone, I have my mother, and grandmother which will take the load off as much as possible.
Still, I barely know right from wrong myself, I guess me and my kid are going ot have to grow up together
