If they were customers of ThePlanet, they have hardware that blocks DDoS included in the price. On the rare occasions that one of my boxes is hit, it's usually filtered out completely within 5-6 minutes.

Last tıme ı checked, a DDoS ıs when you "ask" for a logın or somethıng over and over untıll the computer just dıes. Sendıng packets over and over ıs a flood. A DDos ıs a type of flood.
EDİT: DDos means loads of computers are attacking, Dos means "Denial of service" DDoS ıs dıstrubuted.

DoS is not very specific at all. There are many ways to do it including flooding, crashing, etc.
DDoS just means its distributed over multiple computers, so the attack cannot be traced to a single source.

I've been saying for a while that you need to take a break, i.e. turn your computer off, go outside, get some fresh air, maybe make some friends in the real world instead of sitting alone in a dark room every day getting angry in front of your computer screen.
