Unauthorized Renegade instance closed [message #281474]

The newest Renguard-version gives some people the following problem. You open Renguard, click 'Renegade' and go on WOL (xwis). After a minute or less, Renguard closes Renegade though, stating "Unauthorized Renegade instance closed".

A solution that worked for some of us:

- start Renguard, then quit Renguard when the Renguard message of the day has loaded. Then start Renguard again. (basically u load Renguard twice);
- when Renguard is reloaded, you wait about 20 seconds before clicking 'renegade'. This should allow Renguard to scan all your files before loading Renegade.

This is just a workaround that seems to work for multiple players. I can't guarantee it works for all (hence it's not in the FAQ either).

Maybe RG could have the inbuilt map downloader, as many players use it, might be useful, yes BW might be an issue, the downloader could be linked to game-maps.net so rg acts like the browser for the maps and game-maps.net hosts the files as we do already.
