Enable polls?[ 50 votes ]
1. Yes 37 / 74%
2. No 7 / 14%
3. Other (reply and explain) 6 / 12%

I realize the humor of creating a poll about polls, but I currently have the disabled for those of you who are not moderators because I have found that some new people seem to feel the need to fill out every single part of a new post form and create a useless poll about the topic they are posting about when one is not necessary or helpful.

On the other side, however, most of you are in fact mature and competent enough to use the polls feature appropriately.

So, please vote on how you feel about the issue and if there are more "Yes" votes than "No" votes, then I will turn them on in the "General Discussion" and "Heated Discussions and Debates" forums.

I would prefer that people not vote for "other" and simply don't vote until you have decided how you feel about it, but I put it these in case your OCD will not allow you to have an unanswered poll. Smile

I'm the bawss.

Voted other because I know we would see the famous "Vote on my avatar" and "Vote whether or not you like my map" spam. In my opinion it should be given to people with (1000 < post) maybe even an age limit.

There are a few users on this forum that go beyond immature, But that's for another topic.

I voted yes! Polls come in handy now and then. Big Ups

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

I voted 'Other', and I completely agree with Oblivion. There are times where polls are useful and it kind of sucks not being able to create them. Plus, if polls get abused you can always disable them again.

1000 is a bit high... :/ and the age limit will be useless. kids will act 30, and although that, some older peeps could get real immature. I do agree with the limiting thing though.

Edit: GASP! Doitle has 1337 posts...

1000 is a bit high...

Yeah maybe so, I just wish my loyalty would amount to something. I'm in the top ten posters so sometimes I forget how hard that first thousand is to get.

The age limit is a hard judge too, I think JeepRubi is 17? and he is in control of himself. Where would the line be?

Voted other: enable it for people with at least 50 posts. It won't take out people like Idjit creating polls but it should limit most retards of abusing it Smile.

I voted other, this may seem arrogant to most people... But I would just like to see server owners able to create polls, and only in the server owners forum.

Isn't it kinda sad that it took me this long to hit 1337? lol... I've been here since these forums opened... Still, I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts. Which could be quite some time given the current situation.

Exactly.

About the age limiting, I seriously hate such things, and they don't work either. 17 myself.

About post count limiting, I see no need. If there are stupid polls, just ignore them? You're not going to block people from creating threads the same way are you? Then why do it for polls. I don't really see the difference.

I voted yes.

After all, if a certain user abuses polls, you can prevent them from creating polls...right?

I think it's a bad idea. There is too high of a concentration of idiots, and there has been little to no use for any polls besides the rare democratic polling by the administration.

Yeah, but idiots that do abuse the polling system can be stopped using the poll.
