I had Renegade and RenGuard working great before (didn't have to use game CD, fast map loads with no text on loading screen, etc.), but had to uninstall Renegade (deleted Westwood folder also). I reinstalled Renegade, went through the Multiplayer Online > WOL > Advanced Game Listings to get the game update, and installed RenGuard. The problem is, RenGuard won't auto-update now to give me CP2. It runs, but now I have to use the game CD and the maps load as slow as they did before I got RenGuard.
Can someone help me please? Thanks!

Hello CarrierII, can you please help me? I have the same problem but I don't understand Crimson's post cuz I am not that much of a comp wiz.
I recently uninstalled Renegade and when I installed it again with Renguard, the Renguard is not updating with CP2.
The Oblisk does not make cool sounds anymore, taunts are not coming, and the map loads so slow and the list goes on.
I went to the RG website and followed their instruction in their FAQ to do a CLEAN INSTALL and STILL RG won't update!!!
Please help me. Please do! Thank you very very much!!!
NOTE: Also the scripts link is not working...can you also explain what scripts are to me please?

Please do not ever download files not given to you by Blackhand Studios staff. You should only trust links from non-BHS staff if they are hosted on either blackhand-studios.net or renguard.com, which are our official sites.
I'm not saying this particular person is trying to infect you with a virus, but if you make it a habit to trust non-BHS official links, you are taking a big risk.

I'm not Carrier II :$ but I'll try to help anyway  .
Can you first give some more info? What version of Windows are you running? Does it try to update and give an error, if yes which error (give screenshot)?

Thank you very much, Goztow! I am also sorry for this late reply.
OK...I have Windows XP SP2.
This is what RG does...it tries to get update and it downloads the updates and that's it:
I took this SS because it does it very quickly...as soon as I took this shot, the green RenGuard site information comes up and nothing happens after that. I even waited to see if it will update but no. I clicked on "Options" and the CP updates are enabled.
The Core Patch 2 does not download.
If you need more information, please tell me...I will reply immediately.

PS: I noticed that the OB makes the new sounds (that comes in CP2) in Multiplayer Practice.

Ok
Start > Control Panel (Switch to Icon View) > Add/Remove Programs > Find Renguard (NOT RENEGADE) and then remove it.
Install the latest version from here
Are you using a Speedtouch modem?
Renguard is a wonderful initiative

Hey Carrier!
I can't find RenGuard in the Add/Remove Programs. But I did install it in the right place with Renegade.
I can find Renegade in Add/Remove Programs but not RG.
Here is a screenshot in Explorer with all my files:

I have Comcast high speed internet...I get my connection to my laptop through a Dlink router.

I FIXED IT! I found out that I was doing something wrong during re-installation.
What I was doing wrong was that I was installing RG after installing Renegade but without even opening Renegade first. So, that seems to be the problem.
So, I installed Renegade and took care of my account and all and then got into a server. Then I quit the game fully and installed RenGuard!
It still did not auto-update! But I followed Jon's advice and download patchall.zip and the patcher and unzipped them into my Renegade directory.
Then I ran the Patcher and it started patching! 
After that, I restarted my comp and played and Renguard worked fine! Maps load in seconds, I love the taunts and the new robo-woman voice and blah blah!

Erm, you don't need to do that. But if it worked for you...

I only followed Zunnie's advice that he gives on this thread:

Next thing you do is run Renegade and choose advanced game listings and Login with the nickname you want to be using.
Once you logged in once you can exit Renegade.
Now you start the RenGuard 1.03 installation. The RG1 install will automatically detect your Renegade game so basically all you have
to do is click on "Next" , "Next" and "Finish" 
If you did everything exactly as i wrote here, you should have successfully installed Renegade and RenGuard.

Maybe it is different for everyone. Anyway, I am a happy guy now.
