I know that this program was released decades ago, but can anyone figure out how to get Renbudlist to work for XWIS? I loved the program back when I was playing, and now as I begin to play renegade again I would like to try and get it working once more.

Use the ingame buddy list?

You can't join through it though like you used to on WOL.

Wow look who is posting...hello imdgr8one!

You of course are refering to npsmith's RenBuddyList application. I haven't used mine in a long, long time so don't know if it still works or not.

Yes, for anyone who never got the chance to use this program, it effectively was a renegade instant messenger. It came in so much handy since everytime I wanted to check if anyone was on I would just look at my Renbudlist instead of loading the game etcetera. It is really handy. Has anyone tried to get it to work with XWIS?

It doesnt, im sure all it would need is a few simple IP changes from WOL to the new XWIS servers. Also, after the long time since the transition, the join buddy bug has still not been fixed? thats good service for ya Sarcasm

I never used it for one so I'm not sure if you manually point it at the XWIS server or WOL server (When Westwood had control of the server), If the source code was ever released, And given permission from Olaf, I'm sure someone could get it working again.

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

Good find Gozzy. I was even asking about it at one time...that was a while back I forgot about that thread/post.

Evil: This appy was even better than a webpage. You could add more than 20 buddies, page them from outta game, so it acted like a MSN for talking to people ingame. Was a very nice tool, and imdgr8one brings up this appy for good reason.
