Interesting fact:
EVA is spelled as EAV. (in other words, the image is mirrored unfortunately)

Actually The A is up-side down, So it does look like "EAV"

Also look at IDG on his belt. Sarcasm

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

That and EVA is warn on the left arm. The GDI emblem on his vest is also reversed. And I'm pretty sure his scar is on the wrong side too. But consider his face in the background, the scar is on the left side, but in the full size, its on the right side. Someone fucked up.

Well, the simple solution is to flip it with Photoshop. Unfortunately, that doesn't fix the supposed lack of a copyright notice, but oh well.

I removed the copyright notice for 3 reasons.

1. Its dumb to have superflous text on a background wallpaper
2. I found this picture on usenet, so I can do what I want with it.
3. I do not recognize someones "right" to take free 2 images from a fansite kit, paste them together, and then sell or copyright it. If it belongs to anyone it belongs to Westwood or EA.

If anyone disagrees you have 2 options:
1. Don't download it
2. Report me, in which case the worst that will happen is a notice to remove the image, at which point I will also inform them that you can also download it from 50 other websites so they better get busy.

P.S. don't forget to also report havoc9826, since he also illegally altered this "copyrighted" image Razz

weather or not he just put 2 images together. you do not have the right to remove the copyright notice. if i started releasing Jonwil's scripts.dll with my name on it and took all the credit then im sure alot of people here would get angry. the guy who made it deserves reconition at least. to be honest, doing that and posting what you said. makes you no better than what matix did.

I thought that IDG (GDI on the belt buckle) was easier to notice, and once the image is flipped back to its original rotation he is right handed.

Report me then. Honestly even if I had paid $5 for this image, I would remove the text at the bottom anyway because as I said, it ruins wallpaper. Fact is you can download this image off of usenet and dozens of other places, so I'm not too worried about the police coming to my door because I downloaded a wallpaper image from a public site and altered it.

While you are on the phone with EA, also tell them how I defiled the Renegade logo to create the RenGuard logo Smile

How would you feel if you made a very nice wallpaper and someone removed your copyright and distributed it? Hell, if what you're saying is justified, then everyone making maps or modifications for games are infringing by putting their copyrights in their work. You could argue it both ways though, and it creates a lot of contradiction.

If you're going to release this wallpaper like that, you should distribute it the way you found it, and do as you wish for yourself otherwise.

Although the wallpaper is old, it's still very cool. That picture really helped out our mod, because it's like the accurate image of Havoc. The actual havoc never looked that cool.

And, I feel that a copy of a CD isn't that bad, because... you can't use it without a serial, which is a different kettle of pregnant hamsters.
