Hello -

I recently tried out Generals, and didn't like the overhead camera view. Does Renegade have the overhead camera view? Or is it like the others, such as Red Alert, Red Alert 2, and Tiberian Sun?

No, it's a first person shooter. This means it's unlike the rest of the C&C series, you actually play as a soldier and have to destroy the enemy base using tanks, ion cannon beacons and such. You can get it for around $20 or £20 now.

All RTS games have an overhead view. Generals is just like any other RTS game in that respect, C&C or otherwise.

Renegade is an action game. You can either have a first or third person view.

Renegade is much better then any RTS. Instead of commanding armies with an over head veiw, your actully one of the units at ground level in 3-D. It's amazingly fun, and you wouldn't be wasting your money, go get it.

I'd have to agree, Renegade would blast Generals like an ion cannon any day, any time. I like Generals, but hate the fact that EA took down WW and plastered its name to the game days before it was released.

generals was never supposed to be a WS game. It's not a Command and Conquer game, no matter what people say. Compare ANY C&C game to Generals...and you will see Generals is crap. The production bar is moved to the bottom and you can only see what's gonna be built from a specific building instead of seeing the entire list...that is probably the thing that annoys me the most.

How can you compare Genrerals to Renegade? You ever see that Simpsons where Lenny and Carl are comparing different things, like pandas and Martha Stewart, or whatever? You can't do it. It doesn't make sense.

Now you can compare Gen. to RA2 and the like, and Genrals is, by far superior. Not only do you have the Starcraft style construction lay out, but also a great variety in units and style of play among the three different armies. And the experince system adds a whole other dimension to the game. RA2 is good, but Generals is great.
