The little explanation is really interesting for anyone who wants to learn about another way of viewing string theory! It's explained in a way that anyone with an attention span longer than 10 seconds can understand.

Heh, I love this kind of stuff. Very nice presentation too, thanks.

Hm.. curious then. What if, seeing as how the String theory is described as though they are vibrating in the 10th Dimension, the strings had vibrated differently?

The 10th dimension is described as all possible events based on how the strings are vibrating. Could, then, a new "line" be drawn between the two different type of vibrations? a sort of 11th dimension? Basically, the super strings are vibrating a certain way, which creates all possible realities. What if, we could reach out and change the way those strings are vibrating? Keeping in mind that the current dimention can only modify the dimensions below it, and can only perceive dimensions above it as in it's own dimension.

Changing the way the strings vibrate changes the possibility of the 10th dimension itself, thereby creating an 11th dimension in the process? A line joining this string's vibrations, with the next vibration arrangement?

I think your question is answered in the 8th dimension flash movie.

As far as I "understand", all the possible ways in which the strings can vibrate are already accounted for in the 10th dimension. Every single possible state in which the universes could be in (every possible mode of vibration) has been included. There would be no new places to draw the line to.

I understand the question though, but I *think* it's explained...

Hey, dosent this mean that there is a universe out there were every single event in the TV show Stargate-SG1 is currently happening by people who look exactly like the actors and such?

Like if every posible universe is created wouldn't that mean that every single one of the stories created by us is reality somewhere else?

Great site BTW.

So is this site always experiencing "half a million hits a day"? Every time I try the site it never loads completely and I'm stuck with the text version.

Edit: I found this site a couple of weeks ago.

That's what I'm asking. Not expecting a serious answer, but something for debate. Is the change in vibration covered by the 10th dimension's existence?

Edit: I think I can understand where you are coming from, so let me explain my position a bit more.

According to the 3rd,6th,and 9th dimensions, we can (in theory) "poof" ourselves to an alternate position. That being within the same universe (3rd dimension) or alternate universes/realties (6th and 9th dimensions). All of that is dictated by the 10th dimension, which encompasses everything possible. However, in order for the 3rd-degree dimensions to work the way they do, they must already exist. More specifically the 6th and 9th dimension-based alternate realities must exist alongside our own.

Now, if every single possibility must exist alongside our own possibility, that must mean that those super-strings are vibrating in a certain fashion, or else everything regarding alternate universes would not be possible without changing the way the strings vibrate, thereby rendering the current universe non-existant.

With this in mind, would there be an 11th Dimension, where the strings have changed their vibration pattern, thereby creating an entirely new set in infinately-infinate possibilities?

Probably not. There are several string theories, each claiming strings operate a different way. To solve the dilemma (since all seemed correct), M-Theory was formed by claiming all existing string theories were just parts of a larger picture. That introduced the 11th dimension which deals in string 'depth' or something... Been a while since I read over the basics of M-Theory.

So would teleportation, with an example being teleporting from my current location to say the moon, be folding the 3rd dimension through the 4th or folding the 2nd dimension through the 3rd?

I would tend to think the first choice but that also sounds a bit like time travel, even though that seems to be covered by folding the 5th through the 6th as well.

With the example you're giving it sounds a lot more like you'd be folding the 2nd and 3rd dimensions. I don't think you could really fold into the 4th dimension since that dimension is time, rather than location. Time travel would be more like folding the 5th and 6th dimensions like you said.

Those are high-quality videos, so expect a delay in the loading time. VERY fascinating nevertheless.
