I've spent the last hour browsing the forums for a solution to my problem of getting renguard to work on the first decade. I have tried every method I have found, including manually installing, changing the patch etc.

This is the error I get when I try to play Renegade after I have installed Renguard(seems like every way I try I get this).

Error creating hash of renegade serial, try re-installing renegade

I get the exact same error when I install and attempt to run RenGuard with TFD. I've searched as well, and still can't get it to work. I had Renegade installed before I installed TFD, but I uninstalled it. The only thing I can think of is I used two different serials for each install, so RenGuard is looking at the registry and going: Huh

Anyway, if anyone knows how to fix this, post it! ^^

I've made this simple guide and stickied it

basicly, remove the "(tm)" from the filepath.

That would be awesome if it was that simple. Problem is, it doesn't work. Both ways you have listed.

I still get the same error.

I saw your thread beforehand, like I said, I spent an hour if not more looking for a solution on these forums only to find none.

Wait, you get the error when you try to logon to WOL?

If that's the case, try going to your renegade dir and renaming woldata.key to woldata0.key

No, it happens whenever I try to startup the game. I get a yes or no question box on whether I should update Renguard or the game or some bullshit, if I click yes or no it displays the same error I mentioned in the first post.

I would just like to bump this as I tried to reinstall Renguard for about the 50th time after not being able to play on Jelly Server anymore.

There is still no resolution for my problem and no fixes listed have helped.
