Ok I come here seeking the truth.

On CW theres been a constant debate if Rengaurd should be made mandatory for games played on our manual report clanwar league.
Admins and other intelligent people (me included) argue that it should be but others argue that:
A: There just to lazy to get it Roll Eyes
B: It screws up there game.
C: Its pointless because it is bypassable

I came here to find out if theres any truth behind C

I'd say just be extra vigilant until 1.04 is released. RenGuard has never claimed to be 100% secure, but it does prevent the majority of morons form cheating. The memory detection in 1.04 will basicly tie up any loose end.

Not wanting to use it for that reason is still pretty poor logic, though. Why would that even apply unless the person is planning on bypassing it?

I don't see it as poor logic. Why should I install RenGuard when I can be tested for cheats anyway?

But then again, I play in servers that don't require it. RG to me is a sign of good faith, nothing more, and certainly not a defense from a cheating accusation.

There has been a RG hack released that hasn't been fixed for as far as I know.

A player using RenGuard is very significantly less likely to be cheating than a player who isn't. Furthermore, it's a lot easier to bypass a cheat test than to bypass RenGuard itself.

I dont see what the big deal is its not like its a burdan to use. The download takes 10 seconds and the install takes 10 seconds after that you never have to do anything with it again.

However, there are people for which the current version of RG simply doesn't work at all. (W2K+W64)
