Does anyone get that problem where, when you go to the advanced game listings, your comp freezes for like 5 min? (ctrl+alt+delete does not work, neither does the minimize key) This happens to me everytime and it's very annoying! I have a cable connection. Is there anything that i can do?

This happens to me to, however not for 5 minutes. I timed my "freeze time" to one minute fourty seconds. (Feels like 5 Minutes though). THis started after the latest patch. the only way I figured out to get around it is to have ALL the maps that people are hosting.

I don't understand why this helps, but if I have all the maps, then it goes instantly to the advanced listing, however if I only am missing one map, then I get the "freeze effect". I just keep a notepad handy and write down the name of a map I don't have everytime this happens. http://www.renmaps.com is a good place to get the maps to prevent this from happening.

Someone else that knows more about how Renegade works may have a more technical answer for you, and I would really like to hear the more technical answer if it is out there, but this is what I have found by trial and error.

it's because of all the mods you have in your renegade/data folder. The more pkg. files you have, the longer it will take to load. Siply erasing all your pkg. files will get rid of the delay.

I have it as well..gets longer with the more maps i pack in this box of plastic. I dont know if theres a thread on here about this..but does anybody totally freeze IN a game and drop out. I dont know how to explain that.

I've never had it crash my computer...and I had a pretty crappy computer. Renegade itself used to crash when I minimized and started Roger Wilco on it's loading screen...but a reinstall fixed that

I have to wait for maybe 15-20 seconds with 3 or 4 pkgs...gives me a time to end any conversations I have going on elsewhere
